That’s not all — Ultium is also capable of capturing humidity from the vehicle interior and repurpose it as energy. This includes the body heat of the driver and passengers.
The ingenuity is made possible thanks to a patented heat pump that collects energy from the battery’s heat. This can increase the truck’s total range by around 10%.
Range
According to GM Authority, the EV truck can travel up to 250 miles on a full charge. If you elect for the optional extended-range battery, then expect over 300 miles on a full battery. These figures apply to the Edition 1 trim of the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup truck.
Production
The 2023 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup is among the release of EVs as part of an effort to electrify the inventory. The model is assembled at a newly renovated warehouse called Factory Zero. This facility mainly produces EVs, including the GMC Sierra Denali EV.
